While there are many potential reasons that Hatchlings may have issues or fail to load on an iOS device, here are some of the most common:
Open your device settings by clicking the gears icon.
Next, select Safari on the left hand side (you may have to scroll down), and make sure that the settings for "Prevent Cross-Site Tracking" and "Block All Cookies" are both OFF (you will know it's off if the button is white or light gray rather than green)
After adjusting those settings, try loading the game again.
Allow Cross-Website Tracking in Chrome
Updates to the Chrome app may turn off cookies by default. To correct this, open the Settings menu, and scroll down to select Chrome on the left hand side. Find the setting "Allow Cross-Website Tracking," and turn it on so that the button is green.
Page Loading Incorrectly in Chrome
Chrome on iOS 14 may get stuck in a redirect loop for some users. To fix this, navigate to aws.hatchlings.com in Chrome, and then open the Chrome menu by clicking the 3 horizontal dots in the upper corner of the browser (lower corner on iPhone).
Select "Request Desktop Site." You may need to scroll down in the menu to find this setting. After selecting that, the page will reload.
Next, open the Chrome menu again, and select "Request Mobile Site." After the page reloads, navigate back to aws.hatchlings.com. The game should work normally after that.
Facebook Sidebar Hiding Eggs
You'll notice a Facebook Games sidebar on the right hand of the screen if you're playing on apps.facebook.com/hatchlings. To avoid this, you can either play on aws.hatchlings.com, or tap the Full Screen button in the Hatchlings sidebar.
Can't Get Into Game Through Facebook App
We do not recommend accessing Hatchlings through the Facebook app, as this can cause problems. Instead, open your preferred browser (we recommend Chrome) and enter aws.hatchlings.com in your address bar. You can bookmark this page for easy access, if you wish.
Requesting Desktop/Mobile Site in Safari
If the game appears to be displaying oddly in Safari, requesting an alternate version of the page may help. To do this, tap the aA icon to the left of the address bar. In the menu that opens, select "Request Desktop Website" or "Request Mobile Website" (the option will look different depending which version of the site you are currently using).
